One of the most fun things in blading is finding random things and making something out of nothing. I feel like I don't see it that much now, but back in the day, it was a lot more common. When I started skating, we used to always check out local construction sites and find wood, signs, poles, crates, pretty much whatever we could find and build something out of it. Looking back at this photo reminds me of a simpler time...Read More
These "Take 5" and similar style articles in magazines were always one of my favorites because they get to help you know a person with just a few quick lines. Looking back at these older articles always helps me reference a certain time of my life and I get to see how I've changed/ grown since then. This tear sheet from ONE Magazine, in 2014, is only a few years old, but I can already remember how much has changed from just 3 years ago...Read More
Everyone has one of those people in their crew, someone who is a master of funky tricks, always does something out of the ordinary and can most likely catch a letter on everyone with them in a game of skate. In our crew, this person was Franco Cammayo...Read More
2016 marks the 20th anniversary of me trying to jump around and do tricks on my skates. I've had this concept in my head to make this video for a few years now and the time has finally come. My original idea was the find a photo or video clip from every year from 1996 to 2006 and show the progression throughout the video but there was 1 year where I didn't have anything so I had to ditch that plan. I'm still proud of the way it came out and I can't wait to make another one of these in 10 more years!Read More
I feel like every blader on earth can unanimously agree on some of the most impactful or quite possibly "best" sections or profiles ever made. As you would guess, some would include parts from classics such as "Brain Fear Gone" or "Coup De Tat". As I was surfing around on the YouTube, I realized that there are a few of my personal favorites, old and new, that have had to have made as much of an impact on other people as they did to me. I titled this post "...Part 1???" because I feel like there are many more sections that I either couldn't find or just couldn't remember, so we'll see where this leads...Read More
This is one from my earlier days of shooting blading photos. This was taken in September of 2006, which makes it just over 10 years old. It's so crazy how time flies...Read More
Here is one of the most epic things ever done on blades. Period.
I have a lot to say about this photo sequence and this trick in particular from what I remember. This was while Billy was filming for his Mindgame "Accidental Machines" section in 2006 (Holy shit that was 10 years ago already!). Billy was in a "fuck shit up" part of his career and at this particular time was heavily motivated by his short addiction to sky diving. I remember him coming back from his first or second time in the same week saying how unreal it was and that it makes you feel like you can do anything you want. This was shortly followed by him saying something along the lines of "I'm going to disaster into the roll in at the stadium."Read More
