Over at FlyNYON, we've started a new series called "Behind The Photo" where we do a quick little interview with a photographer about their favorite photo with FlyNYON. I did mine about my New Years Eve photo over Times Square right after the ball dropped. There wasn't too much I could say in the short 60 seconds I had but that's what this blog is about…Read More
I love doing these year-end recap blogs. I think everyone should do it since it really helps you look back on all of your accomplishments and kinda kicks you in the ass to do something even better next year. I haven't realized how much shit happened to me in 2017 until I wrote this article, so let's dive into this past 12 months of adventures and madness!Read More
For years I've been looking for the perfect electric drum kit. Electric because I have yet to live in a place where I can bash freely on insanely loud drums without having the cops called on me. I'm sure this is a struggle for a lot of drummers in crowded cities and I was determined to figure out a way to get as much of the acoustic feel and sound to the quieter feel that would be more welcoming to small apartments...Read More
Thailand has been on my list for a long time and it was about time I pulled the trigger. After seeing how everyone on my social media feed was going to Thailand for the past year or so, I just had to say "fuck it" and just buy my ticket. It's been on my girlfriend's (now wife) to-do list (more about it later on) for years also so the timing was just right to grab a few friends and hop on a plane...Read More
2015 was a significant year in my life. Many major changes lead to a year of fulfillment and happiness which to me is more important than almost every other decision I've made in my life prior. The last time I did one of these recaps was from 2012 on my old website and it was probably my favorite posts...Read More
To kick off 2014, a group of friends and I escaped the single digit winters of the north east and England to skate and explore the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. The trip was named the "Lost Gingros Tour". For myself coming from NYC, its a cheap and quick getaway and I'm fairly confident in saying that traveling to Puerto Rico for the winter is the biggest bang for your buck to avoid shoveling your car out of the snow in February...Read More
I'm going to go right out and say this: I believe that riding flat helps you have better style. This might be one of my crazy theories in skating, but here goes the explanation.
You can tell what era someone started skating in just from the first few tricks you see them do. There is something about that oldschool style thats so rare today. I believe part of the reasoning for this is that there was a much larger percentage of skaters riding flat in the 90s.Read More
In May, I had the opportunity to have a couple of my photos displayed in Times Square. I posted a few photos, but never explained anything about it.
One of my favorite photographers, Vincent Laforet, posted on his blog that he was giving photographers around the world an opportunity to have their work on the Nasdaq and Reuters big ass digital billboards right in the middle of times square...Read More
A Friend of mine moved from NYC to LA a few years ago and wanted something to show everyone where he was from when they came to visit. I sent him a few examples to choose from and these were the first two he wanted.Read More
