I am currently in Iceland and right off the bat, this magical place did not disappoint. First days in different time zones are usually tough because of traveling and jet lag messing with what time of day it is but luckily, we're in a place where time doesn't really mean anything since the sun barely sets.
This photo was taken at around 1 AM when we drove about a half hour to Kleifarvatn Lake by Reykjavik that a friend recommended. Since it doesn't get completely dark in Iceland right now, you can pretty much check out any landscape and any time of day or night without worrying about it being too dark. This place already looked like another planet, so the slight bit of darkness of the sun hitting the horizon at 1 AM added to the mood. On the short drive to the lake, we were able to see wild horses, hike mountains and walk through geothermal fields with natural hot springs.
As we were shooting this photo, there was a music video being filmed right behind us which we were almost convinced was Justin Beiber until we sniped a photo with our 300mm and realized it was probably just some European white rapper.
I made this image by throwing a rock into the water to make a splash to add another element into the photo and I think it worked out great.

I've gotten a lot of stunning photos on the first day already and can't wait to share everything else we get on this trip so stay tuned for more, this is only day 1!
