Yes, you read the title correctly.... this is in Snæfellsjökull (good luck pronouncing it). Snæfellsjökull is a Volcano off one of the many peninsulas on the west coast of Iceland, which all offer a ton of different types of unique sceneries.
They have a saying in Iceland which is, "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes". This is due to the drastic and random change of the weather on a daily basis. Early this day, my wife, Amanda, and I were visiting a lighthouse with not a cloud in the sky, then shortly after, we ended up driving here which was a Volcano in the middle of the clouds.
I've driven in situations where it was either raining or foggy and I've had almost no visibility but this was a case of NO VISIBILITY. I couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me and since the roads are so unpredictable in Iceland, I figured it was the perfect time to pull over and try to take some unique photos.
Even though I didn't take this photo, it got a lot of attention on my Instagram page, so I figured I'd write a little bit about it. Amanda was highly against this since the visibility was so bad, we wouldn't have been able to see a car coming in either direction until the very last minute, and people like me were driving 60+ mph here. However, Amanda was able to grab this cool photo of me walking on top of a volcano in the clouds, no one got hit by any cars, and 5 minutes later the sky cleared up.
