Shooting photos and traveling outside of NYC is always a nice change of pace and is great as far as an artist's perspective to sort of switch it up every once in a while. While vacationing briefly in Key West, Florida a few months ago, I got to shoot in a way more colorful environment. Florida (and most tropical places) are covered in these vibrant colors and it's easy to get creative shots that you wouldn't really be able to get in a place like NYC.
This building was on the 95˚ walk to brunch but it was obviously something we had to take advantage of. One of my favorite portraits from this trip was overlooked when I initially went through all my images after I got back home. This portrait of Amanda shows a nice contrast in separation between the two colors on the wall behind her. As I crossed the street, I got a completely different type of shot. We need more colorful locations like this in NYC that are more than just graffiti walls.
Amanda just launched her cool new website, go and check it out at ALeethal.com !
