It frustrates me so much but I've been so busy lately that I haven't had any leisure time to ride my bike and shoot around the city like I have been doing most of the summer. Even though my days have been mostly occupied, I found a night to go out and do some things in Brooklyn with Amanda.
This night consisted of Grimaldi's Pizza, the Street Dreams Magazine issue 010 party and a brief few moments to shoot photos in the rain. The pizza was perfect as usual, the party was pretty cool and inspirational and the rain held off just enough to walk around a bit without getting drenched or ruining any camera equipment. I meant to get some backlit rain shots but forgot my transmitter at home so was stuck with whatever ambient light was available. I brought out the A7S for this since I knew it was going to be dark but it didn't really matter anyway. Night street photography tip number one: street lights are usually the best spot lights to use on your subjects.
Night street photography tip number two: If there is no strong enough lights good enough to light the front of your subject, turn them around and use it as backlight for a silhouette. This is another shot I liked from that night:
